Development Branch
Development Branch oversees the preparation of project proposal for Annual Development Programme (ADP) and Medium Term Development Framework (MTDF) for development of Punjab Barani Tract (PBT). It is responsible for monitoring and evaluation of ongoing development projects through preparation and submission of Monthly Progress Reports (MPRs) to Planning and Development Board, Government of Punjab & Commissioner Office Rawalpindi Division. It is also incharge of convening the Review Meetings regarding ongoing projects, appraisal of PC-Is submitted by Line Departments and coordination among executing agencies.
Feasibility Study for Mini Dams Cell (FSMD)
The programme of construction of mini dams was initiated in Barani Areas after setting up of the feasibility study of mini dams cell in ABAD in 1980-81. The scheme was transferred to non-development budget in 1983-84 after being satisfied with its encouraging results. The rational to locate this scheme at ABAD was as mentioned below:
- Firstly, ABAD provided a forum for the people of the area to discuss their constraints with regard to development of their lands
- Having direct link with the people, it was easier to assess their requirements and determine priorities. ABAD receives large numbr of applications from the people indicating their interest for development especially with pertaining to water resources
Functions
The main functions of this cell are enumerated below:
- To prepare feasibility reports including surface geology, hydrology, designing, drawings and location of sites after detail survey
- To give technical cover to Soil Conservation staff, the executing agency, in case of any complication during the execution
- To provide technical guidance to the farmers for proper utilization of water resources
Administration
Administration Branch deals with the administrative issues, management of ABAD residencies, ABAD rest house and core issues at ABAD Headquarter level.
Audit
Part of the Administration Branch, main focus of the Audit is on audit matters especially compilation of Working Paper of Ordinary and Advance Audit Paras, arranging DAC and SDAC meetings etc.
ABAD Rest House
Main focus of the rest house is to facilitate the valuable visitors / guests of ABAD Rest House.
