Testing of Soil, Water, Plant and Fertilizer Samples
Currently there are 08 Divisional and 28 District Laboratories providing advisory services for soil, water and plant analysis and one laboratory is providing regulatory fertilizer analytical services under Fertilizer Control Order, 1973 at Raiwind.

How to Avail Service?
- Farmer may submit his soil or water sample in the respective Divisional or District lab. Lab analyses soil sample and issues report to farmer with Fertilizer Recommendation.
- On farmer’s request, personnel from Divisional or District lab may collect samples from farmer field. Submit this sample in lab and issue report to farmer with Fertilizer Recommendation.

Divisional Laboratories
Divisional Laboratories are providing Soil, Water and Plant Analysis facilities to farmers, and are equipped by modern equipment like HPLC, ICP, GC and Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometer etc. In addition to the research activities, these labs are extending services to the farming community for efficient use of their soil, water and fertilizer resources.

Analysis of Regulatory Fertilizer and Pesticide Samples
Institute of Soil Chemistry and Environmental Sciences was established in 2009 by bringing Soil Chemistry Section (established in 1907), Pesticide Quality Control Labs., Faisalabad, Kala Shah Kaku, Multan and Bahawalpur (established in 1971, 1985,1985 and 2005 respectively) and Pesticide Residue Research Lab Kala Shah Kaku (established in 2005) under one umbrella.
- Testing of pesticides formulation samples for quality control in the province of Punjab
- Providing pesticide analytical services to the pesticides purchasers.
- Providing pesticide analytical services to the farmers.
- Conducting research related to the use of pesticide and quality related issues.

How to Avail Service?
- The pesticide quality control labs performs the regulatory testing work of pesticide samples drawn from local market of pesticides sold to the farmers for the control of insects and pests which adversely affect the crop yields, through designated deputy & Assistant Controllers from Agriculture Extension wing of Agriculture Department.
- Labs also provide advisory services to the farmers regarding testing the quality of the in use pesticides applied to crop plants by the farmers themselves, on payment of approved subsidized Govt. Rates.
