Location: Entire Punjab
Project Objective:
- Enhance irrigation water conveyance efficiency by 20% through improvement/ lining of on-farm community irrigation water conveyance network in canal command areas
- Improve equitable distribution of irrigation water between head & tail-end farmers.
- Enhance water application efficiency through promotion of Laser Land Levelling (LLL) among the farmers.
- Strengthen private enterprise for provision of Laser Land Leveling (LLL) services in rural areas to enhance water use efficiency for crop production.
- Train farmers in operating LLL equipment and provide rental services to neighboring farmers.
Project Components:
- Improvement/ lining of 1,400 partially improved watercourses in the entire Punjab.
- Provision of 1,000 Laser Land Levellers (LLL) to the farmers/ service providers.
- Training of 1,000 successful farmers/ service providers.
